RICHARD M. SHTEAMER
In 1990, Rick Shteamer founded Legal Resources Inc., a Kansas City-based firm specializing in legal headhunting for law firms and corporations. Since then, Shteamer has built Legal Resources into one of the nation’s leading legal headhunting companies and assisted in the creation and development of numerous regional offices for global law firms and the growth of corporate in-house legal departments nationwide.After graduation from Boston University Law School in 1973, Rick Shteamer began his career as a lawyer with the law firm of Levy and Craig in Kansas City, Missouri, handling both litigation and transactional matters. In 1973, Shteamer became a member of the Missouri Bar and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA). Shteamer has continued his membership in both the Missouri Bar and the KCMBA to the present.
In 1980, Rick Shteamer joined the Missouri National Life Insurance Company as executive vice president and counsel. His responsibilities included handling all litigation and corporate matters for the company.
In 1984, Rick Shteamer became an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law where he developed an Insurance Law course for the school. Shteamer taught the Insurance law course from 1984 through 1990. In 1997, Shteamer was chosen along with other members of the Adjunct Teaching Staff to receive the 1997 LAW FOUNDATION SERVICE AWARD honoring his professional service to the School of Law.
Rick Shteamer’s offices and affiliations include: Adjunct Professor of Law, University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law; Member of the Board of Directors, Oakwood Country Club; Board of Trustees, Menorah Medical Center; Chairman, Law Practice Management Committee, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; Missouri Bar.
A native of Kansas City, Rick Shteamer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tulane University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Boston University. He resides in Leawood, Kansas with his wife, Paula. He has two children, Hank and Caroline. Shteamer is an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
